Windows XP Bug Causes Multifunction PCMCIA Cards to Fail Correct Installation
This problem effects all true Multifunction PCMCIA cards that conform to the PC-Card Standard. In particular it will effect Elan's multifunction PCMCIA cards like the SL332 and SL385 cards.

Multifunction Card Uninstall Instructions
If, before you installed the Hotfix, you have already installed a Multifunction card in your PC, you will have to uninstall it in the following way. These instructions assume that you have run the CCP setup installation, or that you have inserted the Multifunction card and tried to find the best drivers.
Make sure your computer system is turned on with the Multifunction card inserted
- Go to: Start |Control Panel |System |Hardware Tab| Device Manager Button
- Double click on "Multifunction adapter"
- Right click on "Generic Multifunction PC-Card"
- Select Uninstall
- Click OK
- Close Control Panel
Windows XP Patch for Multifunction PCMCIA Card Installation Instructions
First you must obtain the hotfix, you can download the English version of the XP patch from our web site.

Once you have downloaded the Hotfix to your local hard disk, install it by double-clicking on the Q318213_WXP_SP1_x86_xxx.exe file (where xxx is the language version applicable to your PC) and follow the on-screen instructions. Once this is finished, you must reboot your computer.
Multifunction Card Installation Instructions
After installing the Q318213 Hotfix, just insert the Multifunction card into the PCMCIA slot on your PC or laptop. The card should be detected as new hardware, just follow the on-screen instructions to locate the correct driver for the card.
