These FAQ applies to our PSeries PCMCIA card readers using 1410 and 1420 chipsets. Legacy models are not supported in Windows Vista.
The PSeries are supported in Vista only on 32-bit systems. Operation on 64-bit platforms is not supported.
Vista Support
The latest P-Series driver will install in Vista, but because a minor modification was required you may get an error message if you try to install a previous version. Please download the latest PSeries driver if you need to install in Windows Vista.
Step-by-step Guide
We recommend saving the driver to your desktop :
Double-click on this file to start the installation. You may get a warning from Windows that 'pseries_windows.exe wants to access your computer'. You will need to click on 'ALLOW' (I trust this program. I know where it's from or I've used it before.)
Install Shield will then start the installation process :
When the Install Shield Wizard starts, click Next:
Accept the Licence Agreement and click Next:
Then click Install to begin the driver installation:
The installation will then be carried out:
Click Finish when it is done:
You will need to switch off your PC now to install the hardware.
When your PC restarts, the PSeries hardware will be detected and the driver will be used for it
If you look in Device Manager, the PSeries will show as the 1410 or 1420
Click on Properties to see which driver is being used:
Your PSeries unit is now ready to be used.
