Do I need to plug in a power adapter?
You shouldn't have to - but a few users may need to, which is why a connector is built into the back, just in case. Please see the full FAQ for more details.
Which cards are supported?
Can I use other PCMCIA cards in my U111 / U132 / U142?
There is no 'universal' solution which will support all PCMCIA cards in a USB adapter ( in the same way as our P-Series of PCI adapters.) The U111, U132 and U142 support only the cards that they have been designed to support. You can check the current supported card list online. Sometimes it is straightforward to add support for a new card model (for example with a new driver) but cards can only be supported if their hardware design is the right type for one of the adapters.
Supported cards are not interchangable : for example cards that work in the U111 will not work in the U132. Therefore you must buy the correct adapter for your data card
Memory cards do not work in the U111 or the U132 or the U142.
