WiMAX connectivity is increasingly the preferred solution for areas that do not have wired high speed internet access, or for urban roll-outs. If your WiMAX provider has supplied you with a PC card interface, you can use an Elan PSeries to use your PCMCIA card in a desktop, point of sale or gaming machine or other workstation.
Models
All of the PSeries model range will support WiMAX cards, though the most popular for this application are the rear slot models, including the P111 (for full height chassis) and the P311 which is specially designed for low profile machines.
Supported Cards
All PCMCIA complaint cards are supported in the unique PSeries design, but you might be interested to know that Elan has tested with the following WiMAX cards :
- Zyxel Max-100 and Max-110
- Navini Networks Ripwave/Unwired
- Motorola/Clearwire Expedience
Also works with other PC cards, including WiFi and
memory cards (may need adapter, available seperately).
